Visiting Research Scholar 2022-23
Luciana Sanga is the Assistant Professor of Japanese Literature and Culture at Northwestern University. She holds a Ph.D. in Japanese literature from Stanford University. She is currently completing her book manuscript on the genre of love novels in contemporary Japanese literature. The book argues that genre is not inherent in a text, but emerges dynamically from the interaction between writers, publishers, readers, text, and its material format. Her articles have appeared in Japanese Language and Literature and the U.S.-Japan Women's Journal.
