[Opening Presentation] Chain Reactions: Hiroshima, U.S. Universities, and the Future of Peace Education

After World War II, Hiroshima University rose from the ashes of the atomic bomb with books and trees donated from universities around the world, including Harvard University. This exhibition aims to rekindle this connection between Hiroshima and U.S. universities through the presence of the atomic-bombed roof tiles Hiroshima students salvaged from the bed of the Motoyasu River. We invite all visitors to gather around the tiles, discuss what “peace” means today, and reflect together on the future of peace education.
