ASHINAGA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (JAPAN)

Ashinaga is a well-established Japanese NGO dedicated to providing underprivileged children, who have lost one or both of their parents due to disaster or those with parents who are unable to work due to disability, with emotional and financial support. The organization offers paid internships at its headquarters in Tokyo and its Kokorojuku dormitories in Tokyo and Kobe. Interns work five days a week and are guided through their projects by a dedicated team supervisor, simultaneously gaining transferable skills and insights into working at an international NGO.
ATILIKA SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Paid 2-12 month software engineering internship in which interns will participate actively in many of Atilika's projects: help prototype new technology based academic research; develop new functionality for Atilika's products and technology; build proof-of-concepts; and contribute to Lucene/Solr or other open source software.
HDE GLOBAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Paid 6-8 week software engineering internship that provides opportunities to develop application by using Amazon Web Services/Google App Engine.

Obubu is looking for passionate individuals who love tea and wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of Japanese tea and culture. The internship also offers them a unique opportunity to connect with people from all over the world to gain intercultural experiences and build meaningful relationships.
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ASIAN STUDIES (ICAS) SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
ICAS Program provides opportunities for students to work as Research Associates with faculty members, help organize conferences, and/or work on special projects with administrators for a minimum of 8 weeks.
Hidehiko Abe, the current master of Tonda Traditional Japanese Bunraku Puppet Troupe, invites college students from around the world to learn about bunraku, a form of traditional Japanese puppetry. Students stay in homestays with local natives and are thus more able to experience traditional mannerisms, customs, and cuisine, all while learning Japanese. The program is ideal for students experiencing their first time in Japan, or those who have had little cultural exposure while in Japan previously.
UNITED NATIONS INFORMATION CENTRE (UNIC) TOKYO INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
UNIC Tokyo provides an internship program that exposes students to the work of the United Nations and provides opportunities to participate in the day-to-day activities of UNIC to help promote greater public awareness, knowledge, and understanding in Japan of the United Nations.

AMGEN SCHOLARS PROGRAM IN JAPAN
Undergraduates from across the globe participate in cutting-edge research at the University of Tokyo or Kyoto University for 8 weeks in the summer.
HARVARD JAPAN-US UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH EXCHANGE PROGRAM (JUREP)
Summer (or semester) research internship, in which students are introduced and matched to a physics, chemistry, or engineering laboratory at a Japanese university. Students interested in this program should contact Professor John Doyle (email@example.com) as soon as possible in the fall semester.
