Soup and Ideology is a documentary of the 4:3 Jeju Uprising examined through the lens of a family story of zainichi Koreans in Japan. As her mother loses her memory, Yonghi is entrusted with her delicious soup recipes and her memories of the massacre, the biggest taboo in modern South Korean History.
