To fulfill its aim of promoting research on Japan, the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies provides grants to both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellowships to leading doctoral graduates in Japanese studies. Undergraduate and graduate grants allow students to enrich their educational experience at Harvard by gaining first-hand knowledge of Japan, practicing language skills, and conducting research. Postgraduate and postdoctoral fellowships provide scholars with exceptional promise an opportunity to transform dissertations into publishable manuscripts while participating in other research activities and making other contributions to the research community at Harvard.
