Japan Forum

Established in 1974 in response to growing interest in Japanese studies at Harvard, the Japan Forum lecture series provides scholars from a variety of fields and disciplines with an opportunity to present their research before a diverse audience that includes faculty, students, fellow scholars, and the general public. Assembling each Friday afternoon throughout the academic year, each forum is hosted by a Harvard faculty member and is followed by a reception at which attendees have an opportunity to interact with the speaker and with each other.

Since 1974, RIJS has sponsored nearly 1000 Japan Forum presentations. Please click below for a list of past speakers and talk titles.
