Harvard University offers a wide range of courses on or related to Japan, many of which are taught by Reischauer Institute faculty.
From the very beginning of their studies at Harvard, students may explore many different aspects of Japan through General Education (GenEd) and Freshman Seminars. Recently, the Institute has especially worked to increase the number of these introductory courses on Japan. At both undergraduate and graduate levels, Japan-related courses have been developed in a variety of departments across campus, including the professional schools. Cumulatively, these courses play a crucial role in bringing Japan and Japanese studies more fully into the educational experience at Harvard.
