Professors Andrew Gordon and Michael Reich were recently featured on “Japan on the Record,” a podcast by Tristan Grunow, Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern Japanese History at Pacific University and former RIJS Postdoctoral Fellow (2015-16). In this episode, Prof. Gordon and Prof. Reich discuss their article "The Puzzle of Vaccine Hesitancy in Japan" recently published in the Journal of Japanese Studies, responding to reports of low vaccine confidence in Japan by outlining the history of vaccines in the country and reflecting on what lessons can be applied to future pandemics.
