Gavin Whitelaw quoted in the Boston Globe about Japanese-style convenience stores in the US
Reischauer Institute Executive Director Gavin H. Whitelaw was recently quoted in the Boston Globe opinion article "Can a Japanese-style 7-Eleven make it in the United States?" by Renee Loth. Continuing his insights featured in the New York Times articles in September (here and here), Dr. Whitelaw commented on the significance of konbini as part of Japan's "social infrastructure."
