Harvard PhD Students Share Frustrations about Visa Situation in Japan with Asahi Shimbun

Harvard graduate students Leah Justin-Jinich (Ph.D. candidate in Japanese art history, Department of EALC) and John Hayashi (Ph.D. candidate in East Asian and environmental history, Department of History) were recently interviewed by the Asahi Shimbun. In the article, titled「日本で実物見たいのに」嘆く研究者 ビザ出さぬ日本、留学生9割減, which reports that foreign students have decreased by 90% as Japan continues not to issue student visas, Justin-Jinich and Hayashi share their own experiences and frustrations with the visa situation in Japan.
