Karen L. Thornber named Harvard College Professor

Karen L. Thornber, Harry Tuchman Levin Professor in Literature and Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilizations, was recently honored by FAS Dean Hopi Hoekstra with the distinguished title of Harvard College Professor. Among five faculty members, she was recognized for her contributions to undergraduate education, including making her classroom a "space where all perspectives are welcome, and where students feel comfortable sharing their insights." Prof. Thornber has also made significant contributions as co-chair for the FAS Civil Discourse Advisory Group and as the Richard L. Menschel Faculty Director of the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning.
