Rachel Saunders co-edits publication on Harvard Art Museums Exhibition "Prince Shotoku at Age Two"

Dr. Rachel Saunders, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Curator of Asian Art at the Harvard Art Μuseums (HAM), has recently co-edited a publication "Hābādo Bijutsukan Namubutsu Taishi zō no kenkyū" (The Sculpture of Prince Shōtoku at Age Two at the Harvard Art Museums), based on the 2019 exhibition of a similar title.

The latest and largest accomplishment of the collaborative project around the sculpture of Prince Shōtoku at Age Two, this volume was edited by Abe Yasuro (Nagoya University), Abe Mika, Chikamoto Kensuke (Nagoya University), Rachel Saunders (HAM), Seya Ai (Tokyo National Museum), and Seya Takayuki (Kanazawa Bunko). Essays were contributed by Rachel Saunders, Angela Chang, Penley Knipe, and Greg Lin of HAM, with significant contributions from Melissa McCormick and Ryūichi Abe of EALC, as well as participants of a 2016 advanced graduate Japanese History seminar, Daniel Borengasser, Jesse LeFebvre, Eric Swanson, Yuxin Qin, and Xingyi Wang.
