RIJS Director Mary Brinton interviewed by The Asahi Shimbun
Mary Brinton, Reischauer Institute Professor of Sociology and Director of the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, was interviewed earlier this month by The Asahi Shimbun for an article recently published "労働ファーストの日本が人口減を止めるには ハーバード大教授の提言" ("How labor-first Japan can end population decline: a Harvard professor's proposal"). In this interview, Prof. Brinton draws upon her research and fieldwork in Japan to suggest causes and solutions to population decline.
