Mary Brinton, Reischauer Institute Professor of Sociology and Director of the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, was interviewed by The Asahi Shimbun for an article published on April 1, 2023: "（Question）子育てしやすい社会へ、日本はどうすれば？" ("What should Japan do to create a better society for raising children?"). This article discusses Prof. Brinton's proposed solutions for population decline based on her research on gender roles in parenting.
