RIJS Japanese Boatbuilding Workshop Featured in Niigata Nippo
The Japanese boatbuilding workshop hosted by the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies with professional boatbuilder Douglas Brooks has been featured in the Niigata Nippo, in an article titled "Niigata no Wasen Bunka Kaigai e" ("Niigata's Japanese boatbuilding culture goes overseas").
Following the workshop, the boat, a time lapse video, and several photos and other materials from the workshop were put on display on the Japan Friends of Harvard Concourse until the end of March, after which the boat will be ceremoniously launched on the Charles in the spring.
