The Reischauer Institute congratulates William M. Tsutsui on receiving the 2024 Lisa Mighetto Distinguished Service Award from the American Society for Environmental History (ASEH) for his "significant contributions to the development of ASEH as an organization." Currently the Chancellor and Professor of History of Ottawa University, Prof. Tsutsui served as the RIJS Distinguished Visiting Professor of Japanese Studies during the 2020-21 academic year. His recent recognitions also include the 2023 Award for Distinguished Service to the Association for Asian Studies.
