TOMOMICHI AMANO
Assistant Professor of Business Administration
Tomomichi Amano is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration in the Marketing Unit at HBS. He teaches the Marketing course in the MBA required curriculum. Professor Amano draws on economic theories to understand novel mechanisms by which new products and innovations diffuse. He has studied the introduction decision of television sets under energy efficiency standards, the barriers that consumer packaged goods brands face when rolling out new products, and the role of in-game purchases in driving the usage of video games.
Professor Amano received a B.A. in economics from Harvard College, as well as a M.A. in economics and Ph.D. in business administration from Stanford University. He has previously taught at Columbia Business School.
