RIJS Director Mary Brinton interviewed on BBC and ABC News Channels
Mary Brinton, Reischauer Institute Professor of Sociology and Director of the Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies, was interviewed on January 23rd on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) "The World Tonight" program and on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) NewsRadio. In each interview, she discussed Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's promise to take urgent steps in response to Japan's declining birth rate.
